Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 22/06/2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to RivalRaise (“we”, “us”, “our”). By creating an account or otherwise using our website, mobile experience and related services (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms & Conditions (“Terms”). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
2. What RivalRaise is — and is not
RivalRaise is a charity fundraising and motivational tool built around sport and friendly rivalry. We help users track personal pledges to UK charities, based on real-world sports results.
- We do not process, hold, collect or take a cut of any donations. All donations are made directly by you to your chosen charity using the charity's own donation channel (e.g. its website, JustGiving, Enthuse or CAF Donate).
- RivalRaise is not a gambling, betting, lottery, prize draw or wagering platform. There is no stake, no payout, no winnings and no prize. Pledges are personal commitments to give to a charity — never to another user, the platform, or any other recipient.
- The “charity pot” shown in your account is a tracking record of what you have pledged based on real results. It is not money that we hold on your behalf.
- “Outcome Games”, predictions and similar features are free-to-enter engagement tools used to choose a charity to support. No money is staked, won or lost through the platform.
3. Eligibility & account
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. You agree to provide accurate information, keep your login credentials confidential, and to notify us promptly of any unauthorised use.
4. Pledges and donations
You are solely responsible for actually transferring pledged amounts to the charities or organisations you have chosen, and for the accuracy of any donation information you submit through the Service (including amount, date, reference and supporting evidence).
Donation requests submitted through the Service are reviewed by an administrator and used to mark pledges as fulfilled in your account. Approval of a donation request does not constitute receipt of funds by RivalRaise or by the charity, and does not generate a charity receipt or Gift Aid claim — those are issued by the charity directly.
Donation verification. To protect the integrity of the platform, RivalRaise may from time to time contact charities or request supporting evidence (such as a donation reference, confirmation email or screenshot) to verify that donations recorded on the Service have actually been made. By submitting a donation request you consent to this verification.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to: (a) use the Service for any unlawful purpose; (b) impersonate any person or entity; (c) interfere with the operation of the Service; (d) attempt to access data that is not intended for you; or (e) submit false, misleading or fraudulent donation, charity or identity information.
6. Charities, schools and third-party content
Information about teams, fixtures, charities and schools is provided for convenience. We do not endorse any organisation listed, and we are not responsible for how a chosen organisation uses funds you donate to them directly.
7. Removal and enforcement
RivalRaise may, at its sole discretion and with or without prior notice: suspend or terminate user accounts; remove, hide or unverify charity or organisation listings; close, edit or cancel games, leagues, predictions or outcome events; reject or reverse donation confirmations; and take any other action reasonably necessary to protect the platform, its users, charities or the public — including (but not limited to) where there is suspected fraud, abuse, impersonation, breach of these Terms, complaint by a charity, or risk to the platform's reputation.
8. Intellectual property
The Service, including its design, branding and software, is owned by RivalRaise and protected by intellectual property laws. You receive a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, RivalRaise will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly, arising from your use of the Service.
11. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users, charities or to us.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Service. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective means you accept the revised Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
